I was brought up a SEGA kid and I am pretty proud to call Sonic my homie.
In my mind the SEGA Master System II is the greatest console of all time.
I would love to hear peoples thoughts about which SEGA consoles are better than their Nintendo equivalents.
I was also sad that the Dreamcast failed. It was such a crazy console, I had a friend that still played his as his primary console until 2003.
So let the battle begin, SEGA vs Nintendo! |

Haha - This is sure to get the Curicon community divided!
I'm 100% a SEGA guy. My childhood would not have been the same without my SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis).
Me and my best mate played Alex Kidd, Sonic, California Games & all the rest for hours and hours.

Everyone was getting along so well! Now this :) I never had a SEGA myself (deprived childhood?). Playing Genesis at friends' houses was always good though, big Sonic fan. Also loved the beginning of every game: "Saaaygahhhh". With that out of the way, I'm putting N64 into the ring against the Saturn. The N64 was my first console (again, deprived childhood) and I still love it over my Wii and 360. The combination of Mario Kart, Super Mario and GoldenEye is just too perfect. Throw in some Super Smash... so good. I liked the design of the console, the controllers were pretty weird, but comfortable and the pistol grip Z button was good for shooters. Comparing that to the Saturn... I had one friend who had one and we played it a few times. I didn't particularly like the design, but that was mainly the CD thing... I still prefer cartridges. The controller seemed a bit stuck in the past. The games... you know I can't really remember. Sonic 3D or something. Don't know, but I'm going count that as unmemorable and give the point to Nintendo! Sure, I'm biased cos I owned a 64, but nothing about the Saturn really caught me. I'm giving it to N64 with a knockout. |

Going say Sega had it up until the Genesis (at least), they had a real arcade feel to them. Nintendo's were good, but did (and kinda still do) feel like they were for kids. |

The Genisis was called the "Mega Drive" in Australia. My friend had one (he traded up from MSII), it was an awesome machine.
I would love to get my hands on a Mega Drive II with the SEGA CD Add-on! |
