As if I don't have enough of a collecting problem I was shopping recently and came across some really cool LEGO stes. I haven't played with those since I was little and now that I've looked at the various sets, I'm confused! I really want to start collecting/creating but I wanted to know what sets would be good to start with?? Any tips are appreciated :) |

I'd suggest Minifigs are good "Gateway Lego". They're fun, relatively inexpensive, there's plenty of them and they look good anywhere. Only downside is that they're not building sets, so you'll need some extra bricks to set the scene. http://curicon.com/categories/browse/153/collectable-minifigures
Also, check out this blog for awesome Minifig photography. |

I would just have a look at the different types and pick the one that takes your fancy.
I love Castle and Mindstorms/Technic.
Are you interested in Lego for the building or just "to have"? |

A combination of both I guess. It's obviously great to have a collection of anything but I remeber that I would spend hours playing with LEGO when I was little so I'd love to get something that I could have fun building but also that I could enjoy 'having'. :) I guess I just want to have my cake an eat it!! |

Molly, I think you should just choose a LEGO that you really love the look of and that will spur you on to create it no matter how difficult it might be.
The joy of LEGO is in the making the final product. Jsut go with it and have fun!!! |
